Kenneth does every year because his work does it for free for him. The whole family used to do it when it was super cheap through his other job. I will probably have Orion done because he is asthmatic, but other than that no one will. It's a matter of money for me $25 per shot is not cool, and I haven't noticed it better one way or the other. I've had influenza A personally in a year when I didn't have the shot and in a year when I did.
I think I would have to go to a special location(county heath dept) to get the H1N1 vaccine, so I doubt that is going to happen. It's more likely he would get the regular flu.
I have always gotten the flu shot at work because it was free, however, this year they were shorted 1000 vaccinations so unless they get more I won't be getting one this year. I'm not 100% sure that it makes a difference either way. As far as the H1N1 goes, I'll probably not get that one either.
Don't think so...toyed with doing it for the 2 youngest children the 3 and 4 year olds but, I'm currently thinking against it since they are running short here in our area. hoping for the best and obsessing about hand washing and no sharing drinks or food even w, siblings since if one goes down and we don't know it we'd be out of the loop for a long time!
I've never gotten a flu shot and I can't remember the last time I had the flu. I don't really have a good reason why but for some reason I shy away from taking any medications / vaccinations that I dont need. If I had kids then I might reconsider since they are so exposed to germs in school.
None of us has ever gotten the flu ever. And the more the media hollers about a particular illness the less inclined I am to fret. So no, not this year. If we had a particular risk (pregnancy, infancy, otherwise compromised immune system) we would. But instead we're going to wash our hands and hope for the best.
Maybe regular flu shots for the boys - they tend to be around lots of other kids all the time. No H1N1 though - heard too many drawbacks about it... No flu shots for the adults. More than likely we will be skipping parties and other large gatherings of kids & try to maintain good hygiene.
I'll be the odd man (woman) out and say yes, I and my children will be getting both shots this year. Well, if the H1N1 ever is released that is. As a healthcare professional I am exposed to the flu frequently and we are short-handed in the lab so having me out for a week would not be a good idea. For the kids, I don't see why they should suffer through a preventable illness. Sure flu isn't that bad, but the less puking the better in my book. On a side note as a lab professional I can tell you that H1N1 is rapidly spreading and is the vast majority of what we are seeing at this point. To get the seasonal and not the H1N1 would not be much protection at all.
we never do. i'm very wary of such things in general. but i've read some very discomforting things about the h1n1 one in particular... sounds like a very bad idea to me.
I got my seasonal flu shot at Dan's Pharmacy, given by Dan the pharmacist. Last year, Blue Cross/Blue Shield didn't pay the $20 fee, but this year they did. I think when the H1N1 comes available, I would probably opt to get that too.
You know how I feel about flu shots. :) Jim usually gets one, Elijah's yearly pediatrician's visit is at the end of the month, so I'll probably get him a seasonal one, and none for me, thanks.
No flu shots for us. They make us more sick, I swear. Besides, A1's already had the swine flu. Shortages of flu shots make me nuts. I'm with bonitinha, hand santizer, clorox, lysol, and lots of hand washing.

The poll isn't showing up.
oh, sorry, it's not an actual poll. Just polling your responses via comments. :)

No. I never get the flu shot. I'm afraid of stuff like that and I rarely get sick.

isn't influenza more respiratory and not so much puking, anyway? ;)
Got my shot today at work. Free and took about 4 minutes. Seasonal by the way.
